| Our black bomber prepares for the long road south |
"What'll she do?" is a question normally directed at the speed and acceleration of a car. But in the case of our long term Toyota Prius, a super-efficient petrol/electric hybrid, that question's almost always to do with the mpg. So an idle discussion about just how many miles the Prius might extract from a gallon of unleaded evolved into a plan to take our black bomber from John O'Groats in the tip of Scotland to Land's End at the opposite end. We roped in our Matt and Tom (actually, they roped themselves in), tooled them up with pasties, crisps, tins of coke and various sweeties and set them forth. And while we didn't expect them to make it all the way, there was a surprise ending to the story. And an ever-so-slight sense of humour failure on the part of our Tom...
